Abstract
Two unsafe and/or uneconomic problems in the oil tank's heating system exposed during the winter in Korla-Shanshan oil pipeline, that was, water hammer and high energy consumption (due to too high heating temperature for nonoperative tanks). To solve these problems, an analysis on the insulation performance of tanks and a thermodynamic calculation on the heating system of tanks have been carried out. The author considers that the calculation results can be taken as a theory foundation for the heating system to get out operation. The economic analysis results have shown that the transportation cost of oil and energy consumption decrease after the heating system of tanks get out operation.
