Abstract
A volume fraction specif ication, F, is used to define fluid region, and to track the movement of free boundaries. The control equation for free boundaries is discretized with the donor-acceptor scheme to maintain the step of function F, and to avoid free boundaries from diffusion in advancing in time. Calculations of the broken dam problem and Taylor bubbles rising through stagnant liquid in vertical tubes, using this model, show good agreement.
