Long-distance Pipeline Transportation of Styrene at Low Temperature

The properties of styrene and relevent national standards of styrene are detaily introduced. The influence factors to the storage and transportation for styrene are analyzed. In this paper, the process design, construction and maintenance of styrene buried pipeline, which is from Maoming Styrene Complex to Shuidong Harbor (approximately 30 km in total length), are comprehensively described. Based on the actual operation conditions of pipeline in 3 years, some technological requirements like ensuring the styrene's transportation at low temperature, properly cooling circulation, enhancing line walking and hydrotech-nological protection have been put forward.
