Developing Chinese Natural Gas Pipeline Industry by Russian Experience for Reference

Russian natural gas pipeline industry, which was established and developed in the mid 40's, incorporates natural gas exploration, transportation, processing, distribution and storage. With these characteristics and functions, Russian gas transmission pipeline network represents the construction achievement of Russian natural gas pipeline industry. The develoment phase and characteristics of Russian gas transmission pipeline network are described in detail, and some important practices to ensure the reliability of gas delivery for the pipeline network are introduced. Based on Russian experience in constructing and developing the gas transmission pipeline network, the conception to develop Chinese natural gas pipeline industry is put forward: ①the government's support is the decisive factor for gas pipeline industry development; ②positively absorbing Russian experience in gas pipeline construction; necessary cooperation to construct the multinational pipeline engineering; ③opening up the utilization market of natural gas on the basis of the particularity of development of Chinese natural gas pipeline industry.
