Overview on SCADA Technology in Long-distance Oil/Gas Pipeline

In this paper, the authors review the development of SCADA technology used in long-distance oil/gas pipelines of China, describe the features and functions of modern SCADA technology, forecast the develop- ment tendency of SCADA system, including the development of RTU technology, the development of software, and the development of function and/or structure of SCADA system.The authors consider that the rapid progress on the development and application of SCADA system have been made in long-distance oil and gas pipeline, but many important functions of SCADA system have not yet improved, the further study work in this field should be done.
