The Application of Navigation-based GPS in the Survey and Finallization of Sudan Oil Pipeline Route

The survey and finallization of long-distance oil pipeline is very important in the design and construction of oil pipeline.The navigation-based GPS is an effective tool of navigation and location in the route reconnaissance and design of pipeline.In the project of Sudan oil pipeline construction, the navigation-based GPS has been successfully used in the route reconnaissance, route finallization and record of control point's longitude/latitude.This kind of GPS can provide a high quality and accuracy in the selection and finallization of pipeline route, and on the other hand, it is very helpful for the survey crew to avoid getting lost in the desert.
