Analysis on the Pipeline Rupture Induced by Flood

  • An investigation on the oil pipeline rupture induced by flood has been made. The investigation result indicats that the wrong design in hydrotechnical protection engineering and its poor construction quality are the major reasons for the pipeline ruptures. In accordance with the problems existed in the hydrotechnical protection engineerings of oil pipelines, the authors consider that the proper protection measures should be taken in order to gain the best protection effect for the pipelines located at different areas, different geologies and/or landscapes, which can effectively eliminate such accidents of pipeline rupture.
