Abstract:
The shuttle-type rupturing protection valve of pipeline is an automatic self-acting device, which can fast shut down the pipeline to prevent it from leaking so soon as the leaking flow reaches the set value of protection. To protect water hammer, the technologies of enlarging slow-closing time, prolongating closing distance of run and pressure relieving are adopted in this device. The experimental study on the dynamic characteristics of the device has been made, and some results, such as transient shock wave pattern of surge pressure, size of peak value and duration of fluctuation, have been obtained. The analysis results show that the optimal setting protective value should be over 30%. Only with this value can pipeline operate safely.
