Abstract: The paper introduces some equations used to calculate the volume of mixing oil for oil product pipeline, and analyzes the application of Aus tin-Palfrey equation. In the light of the more branch lines with different diameters' pipes along the pipeline under the variable throughput, the paper sets forth a concept that uses a equivalent length of mixing oil, which opens up the application scope of Austin-Palfrey equation.
