Abstract: For an oil depot operating on heavy oil product, heating and insulation of the product by steam boiler are inevitably and the boiler is in turn a big energy consumer. How to save energy and cut down consumption is an important problem to be solved urgently. The article analyzed the reason of energy consumption of boilers. It was considered that divorcing of steam producer from steam user, high price of fuel oil, big consumption of light diesel and poor equipment maintenance would result in an increase of boile's energy consumption. Aiming at the reason, put forward improving measures and obtained good economic benefits.
