Abstract: When transporting in pipeline waxy crude oil must be treated in order to improve its flow characteristics. By studying on the variation of rheological parameters of crude oil treated with magnetic-field and heating treatment, the paper analyzes the variation factors of viscosity for the treated crude oil, and discusses the machanism of impacting on the viscosity variation. It is pointed out that magnetic-field and/or heating treatment can reduce the viscosity of waxy crude oil.
