Abstract: Through analysis on a case of tank bottom leaking accident in Zhuang Yuan tank farm, we have learned some lessons: 1. Safety management must be carried out from foundation and jerry works should be avoided in capital construction. 2. Lay stress on safety examination of measurement. Both technique and management must be focussed attentevely. 3. A close attention must be paid to tank cleaning which is performed seriously and carefully. Don't perform tank cleaning just for case of changing stored products. 4. Reinforce tour inspection and enlarge range of inspection. Carry out the regulations of person fixed, responsibility fixed, round the clock tours inspection and spot check for tour inspection cards. 5. Fulfill inspection on the building around safety area of tank farm. Keep close contact with local city planning and fire protection sections. Maintain initial land form around tank farm. Curb illegal buildings in time if there is.
