Abstract:
Pipe bridge is fully supported by the steel cables, the corrosion control of which determines the service life of pipe bridge. The conventional corrosion protection method, realized by ader wax, has such disadvantages as limited service life, high annual cost, short overhaul interval, etc. Therefore, a new anticorrosion material is needed of ease of application, high cohesive strength and long service life. It is proved on the basis of investigations and testings that cohesive tape of modified rubber is suitable for coating on steel cables under adverse conditions. Having such advantages as exerlent electric insulation property, chemical corrosion resistance and lower-temperature resistance, case of application, unnecessity for heating and treatment, the modified rubber becomes cohesive at ambient temperature and forms a tight film while preventing the cables from being corroded.
