Abstract: Epoxy coal tar pitch is a kind of anti-corrosion material of original liquid mainly consisting of epoxy resin and coal tar pitch added with filler and sulution.Summarized in the paper is the development of epoxy coal tar pitch at home and abroad with the introduction of its present situation and prospect of this kind of coating material used for protecting various kinds of aboveground or urderwater metal structures and for short, small sized pipelines. The writer's point of view about the application of the said materiai is as follows; It is not suitable for long and large sized pipelines due to the long curing time it takes; but it is necessory to enlarge its application scope in gethering pipelines in oil or gas fields, municipal engineering pipelines, major repair of existing pipelines, insulated pipelines as well as tank coating.
