    Abstract: Pipeline route profile is one of the major parts in pipeline design. It is an important criterion for guiding construction, operation and maintenance. Many factors have to be put into consideration in route profile design. Usually, there are lots of plans for comparison and miscillaneous calculations involved as well, which causes low efficiency and difficulty in assuring the design quality. In addition, it takes quite some time for the whole profile design. To solve the problem, "Pipeline Route Profile Design Software" is recommended, which has 4 functional modulars mainly used for profile design of buried steel pipeline. Through practical application, this kind of software is able to provide rapid and accurate profile design with clean drawings, clear lines and high quality, with which no manual design can be compared.
