Abstract: Heaters are maijor power consuming device in pipeline operation. They are relatively low in efficency with large amount of heat lost.If adopted, heat pipes can recover lost heat so as to save energy. Introduced in the article are heat pipes's tructure, operation principle, design calculation and manufacturing process as well as the economical comparison with tubular exchangers.
