Abstract: This paper discussed the research efforts and recent advances of pipeline technology such 89 tight-line operation, core-annular oil/water flow, optimum pipeline operation, thermal insulation, thermal treating procegses for pipelining crude at moderate t emperature, chemical additives for transporting heavy crude oil in emulsion and magnetic treatment for flow improvement.It is growing importance to this country to conduct the necessary research and dcvelopment works in the fields of chemical additives, offshore and desert pipeline technology, newly developed techniques and applied theories to keep pace with the new pattern of oilfield deve-lopment in China.
