Abstract:
The factors affecting the polarization behaviourb of X60 steel in CO
2-saturated salt Bolutions is determined using dynamic potential method. It is demonstrated the polarization rate at both cathode and anode significantly incrase as the salt concentration and temperature decreases. Therefore, the corrosion rate decreases. In addition, it is found that the peak value of cathode reduction appears disappears as the salt concentration and pH value decreases. The results which are presented also showed that in CO
2-saturated salt solution both cathode and anode have low polarization rate and high corrosion rate. The effects of adding of metal ions of ignorganic salts on the mentioned results are discussed.
