Abstract: Progresses have been made in design, construction and technical innovation of oil tanks owned by the oil selling corporation system in our country. The provinces and cities have all set up their own oil storages and correspondant facilities so as to secure store and transport of oil products and advance the development of national economy. Through an analysis of the petroleum corporation in Henan province, the article concludes that owing to one or another historical reason, there are still remained quite a few problems in many fields such as no general plan for construction and renew of oil storages, poor technical management and expertise of the technical personel, onesidedly seeking for so called new technique and of ten neglecting conventional design and "unpretentious" technique, etc. Some even became so serious as to cause great economic loss. In the end it points out that the provincial petroleum selling corporations may be expected to modernize oil storage technique, if they set up the right system to manage personel, finance and materials.
