Abstract: Calculation of friction loss step by step according to V-T curve variations is proposed in comparison with the current way for heated oil pipeline' s hydraulic and thermal calculation. Following the law as shown in N-shape of the characteristic curve of heated oil pipelines, an analysis is made of the impact of the operating parameters, oil viscosity, conductive coefficiency, soil temperature and the output temperature of oil at pump stations upon the unstable areas.
