Abstract: This paper, dealing with some pipeline fracture accidents having occured in China a few years ago, is made up of four parts: The first part relates the transition temperature; the second and third ones the criterion of ductile fracture initiation and some factors that influnce the fracture; the last one touches on some problems about fracture arrest.
