Abstract:
Sino-Myanmar Oil/Gas Pipelines designed are parallelly laid. The pipelines will pass through many V-shaped valleys in Nujiang River, Lancangjiang River, etc., and it is necessary to adopt the overhead crossing method in the pipelines'construction. Based on the parallel laying design principle, the paper discusses the feasibility in sharing the overhead crossing facilities for the two pipelines. The requirement adopted in foreign pipeline projects for overhead crossing with one pipe-bridge is introduced, and the case study is also given. From the viewpoint of design and operation, the issues are analyzed and compared in safety, economy, environment protection and risk probability for the two pipelines in the sharing and one pipeline with the pipe-bridge. Furthermore, the design scenario for the two pipelines'sharing is proposed. The design in the pipe-bridge foundation, tower, cable, stress analysis, pipe material, corrosion control, valve chamber, lightning protection and forewarning system are presented in detail.
