Abstract:
Frequent corrosion to leak in a gathering pipeline of some well at Tahe Oilfield, Xinjiang, had been found since the technique of water injection for oil and saltwater pipe cleaning was applied. In order to find out the reasons, taking the pipeline as the investigation object, an analysis was carried out on the transportation process, pipe laying design and the corrosivity of medium transported, combined with the pipeline installation technique. Results showed that the dissolved oxygen contents of the water injected and saltwater were higher, and the elevation difference was remarkable, which resulted in the corrosion to leak. Corresponding solutions were presented in avoiding the elevation difference, saltwater deoxidizing and additives/scale inhibitor injection to control corrosion. It is considered that the research conclusions are helpful to further understand the corrosion for the pipeline of well and provide technology support to control corrosion.
