Abstract:
In China, the spacing between venting riser and natural gas station is currently determined in accordance with the Code for Fire Protection Design of Oil and Natural Gas Engineering (GB 50183-2004), but this code has no specification on the spacing between the station and the riser with the venting rate greater than 4×10
4 m
3/h. In this paper, the main factors influencing the spacing between venting riser and station, i.e. the wind speed and the allowable radiation heat intensity, were considered. Then, the influential intensity and range of the burning radiation heat induced by ignition vent and the diffusion of cold vent were calculated respectively using the PHAST software of DNV. And the spatial distribution of concentration boundary at the lower flammable limit of 50% and the influential range of radiation heat at the allowable radiation heat intensity of 4.73 kW/m
2 were also calculated. The research results determine the spacing between venting riser and natural gas station and provide the theoretical basis for the layout of buildings and structures (e.g. equipment operation area, accommodation area, control room and duty room) and the land requisition of stations.
