Abstract:
The common methods to deal with marine oily wastewater are disadvantageous at different levels, such as low efficiency, high cost and serious secondary pollution. In this paper, a kind of natural adsorption material was prepared with the shell as raw material. Firstly, the shell powder with microporous structure is made by means of calcining and crushing process. Then, its surface is modified by adding stearic acid. And finally the adsorption material which can float on the sea surface and is strongly hydrophobic and applicable to marine oil pollution adsorption is prepared. The optimal experimental conditions of shell powder modification were screened by conducting shell powder adsorption experiments. The activation degree of shell powder is 92.4%, the settlement volume decreases to 2.68 ml/g and the oil absorption value is 37.60 g/100 g. It is indicated that the marine oil adsorption material based on the shell micropore is an efficient and cheap method for the treatment of marine oil pollution.
