Abstract:
When the traditional standard calculation method is used in the expansion projects of crude oil terminals, it is limited in evaluating the throughput capacity of berth group. To solve this problem, the methods for calculating the throughput capacity of berth group were investigated in this paper. Standard calculation method, queuing calculation method and numerical simulation method were analyzed and compared. It is indicated that when the standard calculation method is adopted, only the sum of throughout capacity of each berth is obtained, so the calculation accuracy of berth group is limited. The calculation formula of queuing theory is complicated, so it is not suitable for engineering application. The numerical simulation method is dependent on the exhaustive enumeration of computers and the input condition is restricted, so it cannot simulate the actual situations well. In this paper, a more reasonable method for calculating the throughput capacity of berth group at crude oil terminals was proposed by combining above three methods. And it is conducive to increasing the engineering calculation accuracy of terminal assessment capacity.
