Abstract:
Oil and gas pipelines are often parallel with or across overhead power and communication lines or buried cables in the process of their design, construction and operation management. In this paper, the requirements on parallel or crossing laying safety distance between the buried oil and gas pipelines and the power and communication lines stipulated in different laws, regulations and standards were comparatively analyzed. It is shown that the requirements on the safety distance between the power and communication lines and the oil and gas pipelines are different in different situations, so the designers and constructors shall set the effective distance based on the actual situations of the oil and gas pipeline comprehensively. Finally, the setting of safety distance in the process of design and construction of a certain long-distance pipeline was taken as an example, and some related modification suggestions were put forward for the related laws, regulation and standards.
