Abstract:
Pipeline pressure test is an important means to test gas pipeline engineering quality and ensure pipeline safety. The "Design code for gas transmission pipeline engineering" GB 50251-1994, as the most basic specification to guide the pressure test of gas pipelines in China, stipulates the provisions of gas pipeline pressure test in detail. And it was revised in 2003 and 2015 respectively. In this paper, GB 50251-2003, GB 50251-2015 and "Gas transmission and distribution pipeline systems" ASME B31.8-2012 were comparatively analyzed in terms of the key provisions of pipeline pressure test, such as region level classification, design factor selection, strength test requirement and leak test requirement. The design factor of 0.8 is adopted in ASME B31.8-2012 earlier, but it's the first time for GB 50251-2015 to use the design factor of 0.8 in the region of division 1, class 1. ASME B31.8-2012 is stricter than GB 50251-2015 on requirements of population and building density of different regions. As for strength test and leak test, GB 50251-2015 is the supplemented and modified version of GB 50251-2003 with less conservation, but it is still not as complete as ASME B31.8-2012.
