Abstract:
At present, the size of the pigging equipments (e.g. pigs and detectors) increases with the large-sized trend of domestic oil and gas pipelines. Large-sized equipments can result in huge inertia in the process of pigging operation, so it is necessary to perform more strict precise control on the pigging operation. In order to avoid the damage on fast opening blind and even safety accidents by the impact of large pigs, multiple existing buffer programs were compared. Then, a pig buffer device suitable for fast opening blind was developed according to actual operation mode, and its most important feature is that it doesn't rebound after impact. Performance evaluation shows that the buffer device developed in this paper is safe and convenient, and it can reduce the damage on fast opening blind to the utmost and improve its service life and safety.
