Abstract:
In China, the related engineering design experience for large-scale underground storage caverns with water curtain is currently deficient. In this paper, based on the experience of automation design for similar projects abroad, the automatic control system for Jinzhou large-scale underground oil storage cavern with water curtain was designed according to the storage and transportation process of underground storage cavern with water curtain. It mainly consists of process control system, safety instrument system, underground water level monitoring system, water curtain monitoring system, microseismic monitoring system and liquid level metering & detection system. Meanwhile the process control system and the safety instrument system for Jinzhou large-scale underground oil storage cavern with water curtain were developed by using hardwares (e.g. PLC) and the configuration software Epipeview. In this way, the operation of Jinzhou large-scale underground oil storage cavern with water curtain is automated, such as crude oil input and output, and its operation parameters of surface and underground equipments are monitored in real time. By virtue of this automatic control system, the storage cavern can be operated safely, smoothly and reliably. The design of this automatic control system also accumulates the experience of domestic automation design for large-scale storage caverns with water curtain in the future.
