Abstract:
Under traditional management on oil/gas pipelines, treatment is made with experiences, maintenance is not thorough with allocation of required capitals in the primitive "One-size-fits-all" manner, or even some high-risk points are neglected. To solve these problems, a management approach for repair and maintenance of oil/gas pipelines based on integrity data optimization has been proposed. In detail, based on massive data of oil and gas pipelines, including basic information, routine operation parameters, environmental conditions along the pipelines, and risk assessments, acquired and integrated by pipeline integrity management system, through comprehensive analysis, scientific engineering plan is formulated to realize effective maintenance and repair. Moreover, resources are allocated considering probability of relevant risks and consequences of failure, so that limited capitals can be designated to pipelines that require immediate repair and maintenance. Application results show that the approach is simple and can help to effectively minimize unnecessary expenditures without sacrificing risk reduction.
