Abstract:
In recent years, some new products and techniques have been used intensively in repair technologies of oil and gas pipelines in China. The safety and adaptability of these new products and techniques must not be ignored. Through a number of laboratory tests and field applications, the durability of CFRP materials and galvanic corrosion risk and matching/reliability when CFRP is used in repairing the defects of steel pipe is studied. The results show that CFRP is well performed in resistance to acid and alkali aging, wet and heat aging, and weather. It is much superior to traditional repair methods and provide a reference for the design, material selection, molding, maintenance and inspection of engineering application. However, the galvanic corrosion between CFRP and steel pipe may seriously reduce the quality of repair and cause serious safety hazards, proper measures must be taken for protection.
