Abstract:
In order to understand the propagation of shear circumferential guided wave in oil and gas pipeline with coating, the model for oil and gas pipeline with coating is established. Using continuum mechanics and acoustics and related knowledge, the theory of such guided wave is obtained, and then the corresponding computer program is prepared. Moreover, the shear circumferential guided wave is numerically simulated and deeply analyzed. The results show that cutoff frequency exists in higher-order modes, but not mode 1, of the shear circumferential guided wave, and the energy in 4 modes are increasingly concentrated on the coating with the increase of frequency. Therefore, appropriate modes and bands of guided wave selected according to the actual pipe parameters are of great significance for pipeline nondestructive testing.
