Abstract:
Currently, there are no specific requirements in relevant domestic design standards for long-distance pipelines with regard to the clearance between long-distance pipelines and parallel municipal gas pipelines, power cables, communication cables, water supply and drainage pipelines or other underground buildings (structures). In the process of engineering design and construction, pipelines may frequently encounter parallel above underground buildings (structures) when passing through planned or development zones. To ensure safety of the pipeline as required in design specifications for oil/gas transmission pipelines, and with consideration to relevant codes, rules and regulations in other industries in China, together with necessary spaces required for operations and maintenance, the minimum clearances for long-distance pipelines in limited spaces in parallel with municipal gas pipelines, power cables, communication cables, water-supplying pipes, drainage pipes and buried heating pipes have been proposed. Relevant research results may provide necessary references for future design and operations.
