Abstract:
Currently, diversified non-metallic pipes are used in oilfields, and more and more new products are provided. It is urgent to establish and revise the standards thereof. In this paper, the development of the standards of oil and gas industry in three stages is reviewed, and the status of non-metallic pipe standards mainly applied in oilfield and gasfields is described. Such non-metallic pipes include FRP pipe, plastic alloy clad pipe, steel frame polyethylene composite pipe, steel frame reinforced polyethylene continuous pipe, and fiber reinforced thermoplastic continuous pipe. Moreover, the problems of such standards and the objective reasons are discussed, including duplicate standards for similar products, improper definition of product name or scope in standards, imperfect standard system for new products, incompliance between standard requirements and actual situation, and urgent demand for industry standards for new products. Relevant proposals are put forward, providing a reference to the subsequent development of the oil and gas industry standards.
