Abstract:
As to pit defects of a buried pipeline, it is found that there is a big difference between the inner inspection result and the excavated verification result, which makes it difficult to assess the data from inner inspection and determine the necessity of repair. Investigation revealed that this is due to the lack of a unified and standard excavated verification procedure and effective measuring method. Combining the existing excavated verification methods and field practices in China and abroad, a set of excavated verification procedure is proposed in this paper, and it is applied under practical conditions. The results show that the excavated verification procedure is feasible. Moreover, the results of different pit measurement methods are especially compared, indicating that accurate pit depth value and overall outline can be obtained using 3D laser scanning method, and further evaluation like strain analysis can be carried out based on the output result.
