Abstract:
Frost heaving and thaw settlement are the major risks facing Mohe-Daqing Crude Oil Pipeline in the permafrost region. In order to detect the risk caused by frost heaving and thaw settlement, a monitoring system has been established with a SCADA system in highly possible frost heaving and thaw settlement region based on liquid pressure principle, the principle, composition and function of the monitoring system is elaborated in this paper. Through comparing and analyzing the displacement from monitoring data of Mohe-Daqing Crude Oil Pipeline in one year, specific situation of pipeline frost heaving and thaw settlement in this resign has been ascertained. Furthermore, the load caused by the maximum vertical displacement of pipe is calculated using ABAQUS. According to the standard, the pipeline under the current displacement is safe. Practice shows that effective monitoring of this system on pipeline frost heaving and thaw settlement plays an important role in ensuring the safe operation of long-distance pipeline in permafrost region.
