Abstract:
The fundamentals and requirements for project earthquake fortification in China are collected and compared with the basic requirements and recommended practices for LNG project earthquake fortification in the U.S. and Europe, so as to provide specific proposals against imported LNG receiving terminal project in China. Certain results are obtained, including basic technical standards for earthquake fortification for large-scale LNG projects, earthquake safety evaluation (by steps and stages) at project site, rating standards for building/structure, standards for earthquake resistance and component strength, and earthquake fortification measures at LNG wharf. The practical applications prove that the earthquake fortification for LNG receiving terminal project has ensured the safety and economics of the facilities.
