Abstract:
Heat shrinkable sleeve is widely used for joint coating in 3PE anticorrosive structure of oil and gas pipelines, and is prone to short-termfailure. Bonding interfaces formed during the joint coating of heat shrinkable sleeve all are related to the hot melt adhesive layer, socomponents and performance of hot melt adhesive have a significant impact on the joint coating quality of heat shrinkable sleeve. Infrared spectroscopic analysis, differential scanning calorimetry analysis (DSC), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy spectrum analysis and other methods are used for analyzing hot melt adhesive components of 5 representative heat shrinkable products. Results indicate that the products have a larger component difference. In the paper, the impact of product components on the hot melt adhesive hardness, water absorption and appearance deformation is researched and recommendations are proposed for hot melt adhesive performance improvement and continuous research.
