Abstract:
Most oil and gas pipelines are buried pipelines, and their stress analysis, different to the process pipelines, mainly depends on the correct simulation of interaction between pipeline and soil. In combination with the world's widely-used design ideas, CAESARII and AUTOPIPE software, this paper explains the theoretical basis and method of discretization for buried pipeline in the stress analysis model of buried pipeline, simulates the theory of interaction between soil and pipeline and the calculation method of related data; analyzes the verification requirements to pipeline stress in ASMEB31.4, ASMEB31.8, and related design codes in China regarding oil and gas pipelines; and deepens the stress analysis method of buried pipeline in combination with engineering examples, so it will be able to play an active role in pipeline stress analysis work and help to improve understanding of pipeline stress analysis and pipeline stress safety issues.
