Abstract:
In order to reduce the risk in pig receiver and accessories, improving safety, reliability and practicability in pipeline inner inspection, "twice pig receiving" technique is recommended to apply in pig or inner inspection station, that is, opening both pig pilot valve and pig receiving valve, and then closing the inbound valve slowly and adjusting its opening when the receiving pig or inspection gauge passed the T-joint of pig receiver, allowing the pig or inspection gauge into the pig receiver slowly. Taking the compressor station in West-to-East Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline as an example, "twice pig receiving" operation with the traditional "once pig receiving" operation is compared from some aspects (pig receiving process, preparatory work, etc). The result indicates that "twice pig receiving" method can adjust the travelling speed of inner inspection gauge or pig into the receiver, which not only reduce the risk of pig on receiver and accessories substantially, but also obviously improve the safety of inner inspection gauge receiving or pig.
