Abstract:
As currently applied, there are no available methods or standards for pipeline operators followed and implemented directly to evaluate the performance of pipeline integrity management program (IMP). The authors deeply and widely investigate the requirements of related laws, regulations and relevant standards about the IMP performance evaluation including H.R.3609, H.R.5782, 9CFR192, GAO report, OPS guiding opinions, ASME B31.8S and API 1160. Thus it is defined as a way to access the performance effectiveness and efficiency of the pipeline IMP. However, the pipeline integrity management performance evaluation is a "much input & much output" comprehensive evaluation system, it should follow the principle of the index of completeness, comparability, operability, simplicity, and takes a comprehensive consideration from the viewpoint of pipeline enterprise or management objective of operators and integrity management contents to set up a performance evaluation index system based on the specific efficiency measures of each work.
