Abstract: Characteristics of civil engineering in West-to-East Parallel Gas Pipeline are discussed. Aiming at the characteristics of civil engineering in the long distance gas pipeline, innovations for foundation design of valve control chamber, treatment techniques of foundations and winter construction are discussed and optimization in design of block concrete foundations are discussed. Concrete problems arisen and solutions in civil engineering construction of the pipeline are introduced at the same time.
