Abstract:
Studies on high-density storage of gases are very important for the development of a new technology inthe area of clean energy and environment protection.A brief review is given for the mechanism of enhancingthe storage and the present state of the art.Attention is especially paid to the storage of hydrogen, naturalgas and carbon dioxide. It is indicated that no method is principally viable for the practical application ofhydrogen storage on board of vehicles presently. However, storage of natural gas in mesoporous carbon inthe presence of water possesses great potential of practical utilization.Exploration of flammable ice inco njunction of CO
2 sequestration is theoretically feasible.
