Abstract: The paper gives simple description of the principal mechanism of the vortex tube phenomenon, its developing situation and tendency and presents the principal mechanism and process feature of the vortex tube in the application of natural gas dew point control, condensate liquid recovery and natural gas liquefaction. Based on the technical characteristics of the vortex tube, application prospect of the vortex tube to gas gathering, processing and transmission is analyzed. Suggestions in work research of vortex tube technology and application in gas industry are put forward.
