Abstract: The construction of a digital pipeline is to build various kinds of database and graphic base. The techniques on digital pipeline's construction will bring certain changes oil pipeline process and automation design. By utilizing some fruits of digital pipeline construction, designers are capable of combining pipeline design with future management effectively and make a solid foundation for operation control and integrality management of oil and gas pipelines during design process. Based on an analysis on construction elements of digital pipeline, the paper illustrates the requirement for the process and automation system design and shows that the pipeline process and automation design should agree with the data platform and data model of digital pipeline so as to make the comprehensive management level of pipeline construction and operation management arrive at the objective of improving quality, efficiency and security.
