Abstract: Underground water-sealing oil storage in rock caverns is a new technology widely used in China in recent years. The authors consider that proper site selection in construction of underground water-sealing oil storage in rock caverns is very important. Combined with the site selection of some underground water-sealing oil storages in rock caverns in Southern China, factors to be considered in site selection are studied and discussed. A technology route for the site selection is recommended in the paper, which will provide certain valuable reference to the site selection of similar project henceforth.
