Abstract: This paper introduces the status quo, distribution and development trend of foreign underground gas storages in construction in allusion to the construction of underground gas storages at present in China, and describes the major functions of underground gas storages, the construction of different types of underground gas storages worldwide, including their advantages and disadvantages relative to the types. The author gives the technological issues to be strenuously studied in design and construction of underground gas storages and looks ahead the development trend of underground gas storages.
