Abstract:
Several kinds of crude oil are investigated for obtaining the oil-adsorbing capacity of melt-blown polypropylene fabric (MBPP). The results show that it has great saturation oil-adsorbing capacity, which can reach to 20 for high density and viscosity crude oil, as well as it has a faster adsorbing speed than other materials for treating lower viscosity crude oil. With the increasing of crude oil viscosity, the adsorbing speed of MBPP decreases. Further more, its saturation oil-adsorbing capability ratio increases when it is used for adsorbing higher density and viscosity crude oil. At the same time, it has a satisfying oil-water adsorbing selectivity, so it is suitable for the clean-up of low-freezing, high viscosity and density crude oil spills.
