Abstract: The operation steps of the hot-stoppling of big-diameter urban gas pipeline with rubber plug is introduced with case. Based on the characteristics of rubber plug, the paper discusses the problems to be focused on in the safety and reliability during the hot-stoppling operation of urban gas pipeline, and gives a new stoppling technique-rubber plug-water-rubber plug method. Several simulation tests with this new method are carried out. The test data display a successful application.
